¼” Standard hole punch
5/16” hole punch
Round Nose Plier (optional)
Jewelry Wire Cutter (optional)
Basic supplies
paper towels, newspaper or kraft paper, disposable cups, scissors, vinegar

Directions
Cover the work area with newspaper or kraft paper.
Remove the hanging cover from each ornament. Rinse with vinegar and allow drying.
Once ornament is dry, shake paint to mix and squeeze a small amount (about a tablespoon worth) into the opening (Fig. 1). Place your thumb over the opening and shake to disperse the paint (Fig. 2).
Once the ornament is fully coasted, place upside-down into a disposable cup to allow the paint to drain out and the inside to dry (Fig. 3).
Repeat steps 3 and 4 with additional ornaments. Dry overnight.
Remove any excess paint from the outside and wipe clean.
To create the design on the medium green ornament; cut 4 – 8 ½” strips of foil then cut them in half lengthways (Fig. 4) to create 8 strips.
Peel about 1” of the backing off and apply around the circumference of the ornament (Fig. 5), overlapping at the start of the foil. Use a fid or a craft stick to burnish (rub) the foil to the ornament (Fig. 6). Repeat around the ornament, creating random angles.
To create the design on the red ornament; cut 3 – 7 ¾” strips of the foil. Peel about 1” from the backing and apply to the ornament, starting about ¼” from the top of the opening and working around the bottom and to the top on the opposite side. Burnish with a fid. Repeat with the additional foil strips 1/3 of the distance from the original in either direction.
To create the design on the light green ornament; punch out 25 of each of the ¼” and 5/16” dots. Apply randomly around the ornament to your liking. Once all dots are applied to your liking, burnish with a fid.
To create the design on the dark green ornament; cut 2 – 7 ¾” strips of foil and punch 12 of each of the ¼” and 5/16” dots. Peel about 1” from the backing and apply a foil strip to the ornament, starting about ¼” from the top of the opening and working around the bottom and to the top on the opposite side. Burnish with a fid. Repeat with the other strip, perpendicular to the original strip. Create a line, alternating dot sizes, between each strip.
OPTIONAL: To create a copper hanging cover; foil over the top and sides of the topper and burnish.
OPTIONAL: Using the wire cutters, cut about 5” of tinned copper wire. Using the round pliers curl the wire into an asymmetrical “S” shape with one end a little larger than the other. Curl the larger end into itself and create a loop on the smaller end so that it almost closes.
Place hanging topper into the ornament. Place one end of premade or DIY ornament hook into the hanging topper and curl the end closed.
