Description
The Hobby 100 is an economical choice for production, studio and classroom use. 1/4" iron chisel style tip, perfect for stained glass projects, a "stay cool" insulated comfort grip handle. Hobby 100 can be used with temperature controlling devices. One year manufacturer warranty (excludes replaceable parts).
Soldering Techniques:
Plug iron into an electrical outlet. Allow several minutes to heat. Apply flux to a small area that will be soldered. Pull out a length of solder from the spool. Place the tip of the soldering iron on the foil to be soldered. Place the solder about 1/2" up from the end of the tip and gently push the solder into the tip of the iron until it melts and flows freely. Evenly coat the foil as you move the iron along the foil line. When you come within a 1/2" of the seam, lift solder from the tip of the iron and allow remaining solder on the tip to flow to end. Wipe soldering iron tip on damp sponge and place in a stand until you are ready to continue soldering.
Tips:
- Keep soldering iron working properly, by resting hot iron on the enclosed stand or a soldeing iron stand fitted with an insulated neck band.
- Keep the tip clean by wiping it off on a moist sponge.
- Never brush flux directly on the tip of the iron.
